Your first animation

Select frame 1 in the timeline and draw. On a Frame by frame layer, moving to a frame without its own drawing shows an empty canvas.

F5 inserts a blank frame after the selection and advances to it. F6 creates a key by copying the previous drawing. F7 creates a blank key at the current position.

Drag the header playhead to navigate. Drag the highlighted end edge of a layer to change that layer’s duration.

Select a range of cells, copy with Ctrl+C and paste with Ctrl+V. Pasting may extend only the target layer. Space plays or pauses when focus is in the drawing context. FPS controls the pace.
