Cookie policy
The cookies and data this site keeps in your browser, one by one. All of them are there for the site to work; we use no advertising or tracking cookies.
In short
- One session cookie, only when you sign in.
- On the payment pages, Stripe's anti-fraud cookies.
- In the browser: your language, the closed cookie notice and the lab's palette.
- No advertising, analytics or social network cookies.
What cookies are
Cookies are small files a site writes in the browser to remember something from one page to the next. Local storage plays the same role, but it stays in the browser and is not sent to the server. This policy covers both.
What this site keeps
| Name | Type | Set by | What for | How long |
|---|---|---|---|---|
zyggs_session | Cookie | Zyggs | Keeps you signed in after you sign in. Page scripts cannot read it (HttpOnly). | 30 days without use |
__stripe_mid__stripe_sid | Cookie | Stripe | Fraud prevention on the payment pages. | 1 year (__stripe_mid) and 30 minutes (__stripe_sid) |
__cf_bm | Cookie | Cloudflare | Tells people from bots, when Cloudflare's bot protection is on. | 30 minutes |
zyggs-language | Local storage | Zyggs | The language you chose. | Until you clear the site's data |
zyggs-language | Cookie | Zyggs | The language you chose, so each page already comes in it. | 1 year |
zyggs-currency | Local storage | Zyggs | That you chose to see the prices and pay in US dollars. Without it, the prices follow the currency of your country. | Until you clear the site's data |
zyggs-cookies | Local storage | Zyggs | The date you closed the cookie notice, so it does not come back. | Until you clear the site's data |
zyggs-lab-v1 | Local storage | Zyggs | The last palette you built in the colour lab. | Until you clear the site's data |
zyggs-console-draft-* | Local storage | Zyggs | The draft of an article in the team's console. It only exists in the browser of those who write articles. | Until the article is saved |
Why we do not ask for consent
Everything on the list is needed for what you asked for: signing in, paying safely, seeing the site in your language. That is why the cookie notice informs instead of asking for permission. If we ever use cookies that are not needed, such as statistics, they will only be written after your consent, and this page will change first.
How to control them
- Signing out deletes the session cookie.
- Your browser's settings let you see and delete cookies and site data. Blocking the session cookie stops you from signing in; blocking Stripe's can stop payment.
- Clearing the site's data erases the saved language and palette; the site opens in English again.
And the program?
The Zyggs program keeps its preferences in configuration files on your computer. When it shows pages of this site, such as sync, the cookies on this list apply.
