VERSIONS

Zyggs versions

What changed in each version and what you can download.

  1. Zyggs 3.15.0Current version

    Pen, tilt and new versions

    What changed

    • The pen’s eraser end erases while it is over the canvas, and the tip brings back the tool you had. The side buttons act like the mouse’s: the lower one finishes a path and opens the menu, the upper one moves the view.
    • Painting brushes can follow the pen’s tilt: the tip turns toward the side the pen leans to.
    • On a computer with a touch screen, the canvas gestures come on by themselves: one finger draws, two zoom and move the view.
    • The program tells you when a new version for your system is out: it shows in the Help menu and opens the site’s versions page.

  2. Zyggs 3.14.0

    Zyggs on the Mac

    What changed

    • Zyggs arrives on Macs with Apple silicon, with the whole editor and the local motion capture and language engines. Activation, the subscription and the free trial work as on Windows.
    • On the Mac the app comes signed and checked by Apple, and projects open with a double click in the Finder.
    • On the Mac and on Linux the automatic cloud copy is not in the program yet: projects stay on the computer and can be sent to the cloud from the site’s panel.
    • The Help Center shows the program’s right version (3.13.0 showed as 3.12.2).

  3. Zyggs 3.13.0

    Linux and Windows on ARM

    What changed

    • Zyggs arrives on Linux with the whole editor and the local motion capture and language engines. Activation, the subscription and the free trial work as on Windows.
    • On Linux the automatic cloud copy is not in the program yet: projects stay on the computer and can be sent to the cloud from the site’s panel.
    • On Linux, MP4 export uses the graphics card’s encoder (VA-API or NVENC) and, without one, the system’s ffmpeg. Without either, the program offers a PNG sequence.
    • Windows on ARM (ARM64 processors such as Snapdragon X): the editor is native, and the motion and language engines run under Windows 11’s x64 emulation.

    Spans on the timeline

    What changed

    • Frames that repeat the keyframe's drawing show as one continuous span: the dot stays on the keyframe, the line between frames goes and a small open box marks where the span ends. Frame-by-frame layers keep one cell per frame.
    • In the dark theme, all four corners of the frame grid are rounded, under the layer column too.
    • The brush library fills the whole width of its window, with no empty band on the right.
    • Text you are still typing is confirmed or kept before the frame, the layer or a document setting changes, and the typing and the next step undo one at a time. Moving the first keyframe of a layer works: before, the move could be refused with no message.
    • A project with embedded pictures is checked before its pictures are opened: if they would take more than 256 MiB once decoded, the project is refused with a message and the file stays as it was. Discarding the recovered project keeps the recovery copies of your other projects, and a recovery copy that fails to save is tried again.
    • Cloud copy: when you erase the whole drawing of a draft before its first upload, the copy kept for the cloud becomes empty too, and an older upload no longer marks the current version as synced. GIF export works on a checked copy of the project, so the size, speed and frames come out as they were when the export began, and cancelling at the last moment keeps the file that was already there.
    • Reference search shows the answer to your newest search, never a late answer to an older one, and a broken answer shows as an error instead of an empty result. The assistant refuses a request it has no action for before changing anything; asking it to duplicate a layer is refused for now, where before it duplicated the selected objects.
    • Two cases where working with paths could hang the program were fixed, and a subdivision that cannot be done leaves the outline as it was.
